England XI emerged victorious in the European Cricket Championship, defeating Netherlands XI by eight wickets in the final held at the Cártama Oval in Malaga. Spain secured the third-place position with a remarkable seven-wicket victory over Ireland on the championship’s final day.

Spain’s path to the final was cut short as they faced Netherlands XI in a qualifier match and suffered a six-wicket defeat, dashing their hopes of contending for the championship title. This result was reminiscent of Spain’s near-miss in last year’s championship, where they also narrowly missed making it to the final.

In a change of fortunes, the reigning champions, Netherlands XI, had to relinquish their title to England XI, who celebrated their championship victory in grand fashion at the Cártama cricket ground on a Friday evening.
